Happy Birthday Carson!!!

It was Carson's Birthday yesterday!  For those of you who do not know Carson is my baby too... I share him with his mom, Liz.  I love this beautiful  guy.  He is my adopted little one.  (since I am not having more of my own...well more on that subject in a later post)  I love taking photos of this boy,.  He is so photogenic.

Playing catch-up

So much stuff going on.... where to start.   a few months ago, my aunts little shelby (yorkie pup)  past away.  He was such a sweetheart.  my kids loved him.  So did I.  I had to do something, and I sketched and painted this painting for my aunt.  It is my aunt as a little angel, holding her sweet shelby.  I hope it makes her feel a little better, it helped me as I painted it.

I have been working on redesigning dimples & dandelions website and logo.

wow. life.

really has a way of getting away with you.  It has its ups and down, ins and outs, goods and bads.  But through the hard times you learn to embrace and hold on to the good times.  Remember how precious life is, and how much you treasure those that are dearest to you.  Never loose sight of how many things you have to be grateful for.

I know, I know, I know!  I am a horrible blogger!   Jeez!   Sept.14th- was that really 6 weeks ago???  My last entry, wow.  I have been up to stuff though!  Just wait.  I will post some of my doings during this blogging hiatus this afternoon, so check back!

Here is a custom invitation I am working on too.... its for a little girl who is having her party on the farm!!!  Sounds so fun! (and I get to go!)

Just thought I'd share one of the new logos I am creating right now...  I am so excited to be working with Mandy at Magnolia Lane.  Wait until you see the boutique street I am creating for them!  I will post soon...  I love how their logo tuned out.

I have two more new name plaque designs finished.  I am so excited to finally be getting these painted.  They have been just sitting in my sketchbook for far too long.  These are the first two designs in my alphabet series.  There are going to be others that coordinate, but with different backgrounds.

Home!

Well we made it back- with our memories, 200 pictures I took, and need to sort through and edit... and a few stories for the kids to tell there friends at school today.  Roasting hotdogs in the rain - Climbing a mountain called "Mount Baldy" - and having a curious BIG BLACK BEAR come a little too close for comfort when we were fishing at the lake!  I am not sure what it is with our family outings having to include wildlife upclose and personal... but lately it seems like it wouldn't be a vacation without it.  I was so bummed (after we ran as fast as we could to the other side of the small lake we were fishing on)  that I didn't have my camera!  It was around my neck the whole trip except for this quick trip to the lake to fish before dinner.   And of course that was when he decided to show up.  It is a little unnerving when everyone on the lake is yelling bear, and pointing behind you.   Then to turn around and see it 50 yards up the mountainside behind you.  Poor little Madi, it scared her to death.  I am not sure if it was totally her shock, or partly from the reaction of the others around us, but she just took off.  Her little legs would not move fast enough for her.  Once we were at a safe distance, and the Bear was moving back up the mountain, she thought it was funny to see the bear, "not in the zoo" as she put it. 

We also went to see the Falls, they were beautiful.  A photo just does not do them justice, but here is a pic of the bottom falls.  We saw two others on top of this one, but these were my favorite.

Here is a view from the 'almost' top of Mount Baldy.   It started raining, and hailing, so we didn't make it to the top. 

Carter got a lesson in fly fishing from Nate.  I love looking at these pictures of the two of them together. 

Well I didn't get any work done.  We were busier than I thought we would be.  The kids love fishing, and wanted to go constantly go to the lake or the river.  It was a fun weekend.  The leaves are just starting to change, I can't wait for another week or two, when they are in complete fall colors.  It is my favorite time of the year.  I am definitely going to make it up this year to take some pics of the leaves.

And we're off.....

for our last summer fling.  Camping with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  We are going up to a lake somewhere high in the Uintah Mountains.  Should be great scenery for some awesome pictures.   I love taking camping pics. Some great reading time, and yes, I will be taking some work along with me... (shhh, don't tell)  .. is it so wrong?  I am constantly thinking about it anyway, so I might as well get some sketches done.

~here is my new logo for my Studio Art site.... new website is coming soon too!  (As soon as i have time to finish it!)  I think I am just about to the point were I am realizing that if it is ever to be finished, I am going to need someone to help me do it.... any takers?
